A Famous Tycoon from Serbia
People today are in constant search of success more than ever before. Or, to rephrase that – since I’m not an admirer of such questionable facts – it seems that people are in constant search for success because we now have a medium that allows us to search for all kinds of topics. Later they deliver us similar content in order to make us spend even more time looking and scrolling through our digital devices. But that is a whole different topic.
Social media is full of stories about instant successes, amazing strategies that you should implement to become an overnight millionaire, various coaches that promise they can teach you whatever you want, and similar. Rarely does one say that these overnight success stories are very rare or that working, and especially working smart, along with working hard, is one of the most important things that will make you achieve greatness.
More often than not, you can read that if you want to become successful you should follow the strategies of people that are there where you want to be one day. That sounds perfectly fine and reasonable, but there are many other factors that can impact how your road to success will look like. These lines are not here to discourage you, quite the opposite – they are here to encourage you keep looking for your own path even when you are feeling disappointed, because you maybe haven’t had the same circumstances as some of your role models.
I strongly believe that all books we read, the information we find, and the education we go through, should serve us as valuable lessons and guidelines for our own challenges.
When it comes to books about success stories, many founders of successful businesses want to write about their paths and difficulties that show us the road they took and challenges they faced while building their empires. Thanks to that, now we have a possibility to find out their methodologies and thoughts, tips and tricks, and different solutions that made them what they are today.
From one of the wealthiest people in Europe comes a book with an intriguing title. If you come from Serbia or at the very least have some family members that live her, you have probably heard of Miroslav Mišković, a famous Serbian businessman. There are many gossips follow the carrier path of this man, making him even more famous than he already became with his achievements in the business world.
I, Tycoon is not a modern psychology book that you can see in everyday commercials on social media. True, this economic thriller is definitely about success, but you will not find plenty of methodology rules that some couch tells you how you should immediately start implementing them in order to achieve massive incomes. This is a story with both good and bad sides of a huge success.
The author reveals his strategies which contain buying and selling companies, but don’t think that this book is just about that. Reading I, Tycoon, you can find out some very interesting facts about the life of Miroslav Mišković, such as his correlation with coworkers, hiring young people and teaching them to be leaders in their area of work. Of course, that is not the only thing that will grab your attention. The whole book is written in a simple style, easy to read and it is very exciting till the last page. It is especially interesting having a chance to read about a success story from Serbia firsthand.
Politics as an unavoidable factor had also found its place in this story and that side of the book would probably be interesting only for Serbian people familiar with politics within the country. Still, do not let that distract you from the book, because you will find many parts that make it interesting, for sure, even if you do not have any connection with Serbia or have never visited it.
The book is written in the form of a diary, meaning that there are very detailed dates and even hours mentioned before every part of the story, but this is not a book that follows the day after the day. The dates mentioned actually serve to give more context to the story based on other circumstances and occurrences on or around that particular date.
From this book, readers can get insight into one of the most successful Serbian business minds and find out how it functions. I, Tycoon is definitely a one-of-a-kind autobiography with a focus on business creation, which could be very interesting for all people that are in search for business advice and information.
Full of amazing circumstances, maybe it wouldn’t reveal to you how you can start your own company, but it will allow you to find out how Mišković, a man who was and still is on the cover of many newspapers, did it – and some parts can serve as a great source of inspiration.
He once said that it is no secret that he buys a company, increases its value, and afterwards sells it to other global players. This controversial personality who had never been late for a meeting and pays special attention to his shoes – which have to be perfectly clean to not leave a very bad first impression – also writes about his thoughts on Serbian agriculture, sports, women in business, his own habits, and a lot more.
You have probably heard many times how a book will not leave you indifferent, but truth to be told, this is really a book that deserves this caption.
